The Tweed Tourism Company is a Council-owned service that delivers destination management, industry development, marketing, events and visitor economy programs that support the Tweed’s tourism and event sector.

Its purpose is to position the Tweed as one of Australia's leading sustainable destinations celebrated for its nature and outdoor recreation, cultural, culinary and creative experiences; and to develop, attract and support events that showcase the Tweed’s unique characteristics.

From 1 October 2026 Council will take a greater leadership role delivering these services as part of an integrated Destination, Communication and Customer Experience portfolio and is building a new visitor economy and destination events team.

Davidson is proud to be partnering with the Tweed Tourism Company in recruiting tourism industry specialists for this new team that will deliver strong outcomes for the Tweed community by continuing the great work of The Tweed Tourism Company and the momentum of Tweed’s visitor economy, industry and operators.

Visitor Economy Lead

Service leadership, strategy delivery, commercial and community outcomes, and advocacy

Lead Council’s Visitor Economy and Destination Events service operating as The Tweed Tourism Company.

• Influence destination outcomes for one of NSW’s most desirable and growing regions. 
• Lead the full visitor economy ecosystem - integrating destination management, industry development, marketing, brand, media, events and visitor services in this rare 'build and lead' opportunity. 
• Champion commercial and community outcomes that build partnerships and unlock destination opportunities that deliver economic and social outcomes for the region.
• This is a rare chance to influence and lead a destination and build a new team at an exciting and critical maturity point to strengthen the destination profile, support industry and create exceptional visitor experiences and services. 
• The role works from multiple sites across The Tweed region with its main office location at the Civic and Cultural Centre in Murwillumbah, NSW.  Visitor information centres are located at Kingscliff and Murwillumbah (Murwillumbah Railway Station).
