The Opportunity
Tweed Shire Council is establishing a new team to lead The Tweed Tourism Company, a contemporary, in-house visitor economy service responsible for growing the region's reputation, visitation and economic impact.
We are seeking a Visitor Services Supervisor to lead visitor information and frontline experiences across The Tweed's Visitor Information Centres, mobile visitor servicing and regional activations.
Reporting to the Visitor Economy Lead, you will coordinate day-to-day visitor service operations, ensuring welcoming, accurate and on-brand experiences that support The Tweed's destination positioning, local tourism industry and VIC accreditation requirements.
You will oversee visitor services across the Murwillumbah and Kingscliff Visitor Information Centres, mobile servicing initiatives and pop-up activations. Leading a Visitor Services Officer (Job Share) and a passionate team of 50+ volunteers, you will ensure visitor information, retail, ticketing and promotional collateral remain current, accurate and aligned with destination priorities and campaigns.
What You’ll Deliver
- You will coordinate visitor services across the Murwillumbah and Kingscliff Visitor Information Centres 7 day a week operation, mobile visitor servicing, pop-up activations and regional events, ensuring consistent, welcoming and professional experiences.
- You will maintain visitor experiences that meet brand, accessibility and VIC accreditation standards across physical, digital and mobile touchpoints.
- You will oversee bookings, ticketing, retail and merchandise operations, including POS systems, reconciliations, stock control, merchandising and audit readiness.
- You will manage visitor servicing projects and collateral, including maps, brochures, displays, digital kiosks and the mobile visitor van.
- You will lead and support staff and volunteers through rostering, induction, training and coaching, fostering a positive and customer-focused service culture.
- Most importantly, you will help shape how people experience, understand and connect with The Tweed through trusted, contemporary and memorable visitor services.
About You
- You are an experienced customer or visitor services leader with a strong understanding of public-facing service delivery, ideally within tourism, hospitality or destination management.
- You bring proven experience delivering exceptional customer experiences, managing diverse visitor needs and resolving complex enquiries with professionalism and care.
- You have experience working within operational or quality-assurance frameworks, including accreditation standards, procedures and service readiness requirements.
- You are confident managing retail, ticketing or booking operations, including POS systems, cash handling, stock control and reconciliations.
- You have demonstrated experience leading staff and volunteers, including rostering, onboarding, coaching and fostering a positive, safe and inclusive team culture.
- You are highly organised, systems-savvy and collaborative, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build productive relationships with operators, partners and internal teams.

What's on offer:
- a base salary ranging from $77,555 per annum with competency-based increments up to $91,053 per annum plus 12% super
- 70-hour, 9 day fortnight. Permanent and full-time.
