The Opportunity

Tweed Shire Council is establishing a new team to lead The Tweed Tourism Company, a contemporary, in-house visitor economy service responsible for growing the region's reputation, visitation and economic impact.

We are seeking a Destination Marketing and Brand Specialist to lead the delivery of high-quality, data-driven marketing and brand activity that strengthens The Tweed's position across priority markets.

Reporting to the Visitor Economy Lead you will play a central role in shaping how the destination is seen, experienced and understood, leading the brand, managing the digital ecosystem and delivering integrated campaigns that drive measurable results.

Your Legacy

  • You will lead and deliver integrated destination marketing campaigns that make people want to visit The Tweed across paid, owned and earned channels.
  • You will provide expert advice on brand, marketing strategy, communication risks and performance optimisation.
  • You will own and manage The Tweed Tourism Company's digital ecosystem, including websites, social media and EDMs.
  • You will develop and curate high-quality, on-brand content across digital and print.
  • You will manage travel media and PR contracts, ensuring value for investment and strong destination PR and media outcomes.
  • Most importantly, you will leave a legacy that extends far beyond individual projects or campaigns helping define how future generations experience, value and connect with The Tweed.

About You

  • You are an experienced marketing professional with strong expertise across brand management, digital marketing and integrated campaign delivery.
  • You bring demonstrated experience delivering data-driven marketing outcomes, managing multi-channel digital ecosystems and translating strategy into effective campaigns that deliver measurable results.
  • You are confident working across content, campaigns and analytics, with sound judgement in managing brand, communications and reputational considerations.
  • You are a skilled relationship builder who can work effectively with tourism operators and stakeholders while delivering high-quality outcomes across multiple channels in a dynamic environment.
  • You have experience managing external consultants and ideally bring established networks across the travel media and public relations sector.
  • You live and breathe content creation and visual storytelling and are excited by the opportunity to elevate the profile of The Tweed and The Tweed Tourism Company across digital, social and media channels.

What's on Offer

  • a base salary ranging from $102,118 per annum with competency-based increments up to $117,528 per annum plus 12% super.
  • 70-hour, 9-day fortnight. Permanent full-time.
