About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Specialist to join its growing Data & Analytics team. This is a hands-on, business-facing analytics role focused on turning complex customer and billing data into clear, actionable insights. You will partner closely with teams across Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA), Customer Technology, and Retail Services to design and deliver intuitive dashboards that improve customer engagement, satisfaction, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Build transform and maintain robust Power BI data semantic models, using DAX and Power Query, integrating data from the Azure Databricks in alignment with best Data Governance and coding practices
- Design and deliver intuitive, self-service Power BI dashboards that surface insights that empower business stakeholders to make quicker and more accurate data driven decisions.
- Incorporate modelling and reporting best practices for optimised and efficient user experience and maintaining platform performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Asset Services and external vendors to understand and define reporting needs that support customer-focused strategies, operational goals and ensure adoption of reporting solutions.
- Translate business requirements into innovative, efficient and scalable data solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive adoption of reusable and reliable data assets.
- Identify and present insights to business stakeholders to influence business decisions and improve water asset management.
- Serve as a bridge between business teams and enterprise data engineering teams to ensure data products are reliable, fit-for-purpose, and well-governed.
- Support dashboard development, reporting, and analytics in partnership with process owners and business SMEs.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the enterprise data strategy, ensuring solutions align with strategic goals and data governance standards.
- Manage releases, deployments, and BAU support for analytics platforms, while providing advanced troubleshooting and Level 3 support.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Power BI Specialist / Senior BI Developer in a customer-oriented environment.
- Deep understanding of Azure data services, Power BI, and advanced modelling techniques.
- Strong skills in DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and dashboard development.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, data-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a track record of working in business-facing roles.
Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in IT, Data, or related fields are required.
