  • Exciting and unique opportunity to shape the future of an iconic events precinct
  • Influence design quality and consistency across multiple venues and projects
  • Play a pivotal role in defining the precinct’s long-term design direction and guest experience

Located in the heart of Melbourne - a city known around the world for its epic sports and entertainment culture - Melbourne Park is Australia’s live events epicentre. Home to nine elite national sporting teams, six iconic venues, and the world’s biggest grand slam, Melbourne Park brings millions of people together to share experiences, make lifelong memories and be part of something bigger. The Victorian Government’s recent near-$1 billion redevelopment was completed to support Melbourne Park’s growing popularity, securing its legacy as a drawcard destination for sport and entertainment fans, and laying the foundations for a bright future at the leading edge of live event experiences. We’re now looking for a Precinct Design Manager to help shape what comes next.

Reporting to the Director of Precinct Development, the Precinct Design Manager will lead the creative vision and design direction for a broad range of capital projects and major development initiatives, from the earliest conceptual thinking right through to detailed design. In this role, you will:

  • Lead the creative vision and set the design language for Melbourne Park’s future
  • Champion architectural and urban design excellence across all projects
  • Ensure every project not only looks incredible but performs brilliantly for guests, operators, and the broader community
  • Steer multidisciplinary design teams and partner with some of the world’s best design consultants
  • Ensure projects continue to raise the bar for sustainability, accessibility, operational performance, and place-making
  • Act as the glue between strategy, design, and delivery, bringing together internal teams, agencies, tenants, and precinct partners to ensure alignment behind a shared vision

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record as a project architect or design coordinator and a well-developed ability to operate effectively within complex, multi-disciplinary stakeholder settings. You will bring:

  • Strong architectural or urban design foundations
  • Demonstrated success leading consultants
  • The ability to make confident decisions that balance vision, functionality, and project constraints
  • A proven ability to build trusted, reciprocal relationships with internal and external stakeholders, gaining insights that help inform the design direction for the precinct

We’re looking for someone with experience across complex public, mixed-use, cultural, or major sporting and entertainment environments. Someone who understands the realities of multi-disciplinary coordination, who thrives in the grey, and who genuinely loves the energy of precinct-scale work.
