VNI West is a landmark transmission project connecting Victoria and NSW - strengthening the grid and enabling Australia's renewable energy future. As the project advances, Iberdrola is expanding its development and land engagement team and is seeking two Land Access Coordinators to support landholder engagement and secure access for surveys, investigations and construction.

About the role
Reporting to the project's land and stakeholder leadership team, you will play a pivotal part in how the VNI West project engages with regional communities and landowners across Victoria. This role requires a clear communicator, a patient and proactive relationship-builder, and someone who enjoys working in the field as much as in the office.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing land access strategies, managing negotiations, ensuring compliance, and helping maintain positive, trusted relationships with landholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver land access strategies to enable timely surveys, investigations, construction and maintenance
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with landowners, local communities and government stakeholders
  • Lead and support community engagement activities, addressing questions and concerns and acting as the primary point of contact throughout development and construction
  • Ensure compliance with Victorian land regulations, environmental legislation and cultural heritage requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation including access agreements, permissions, negotiation records and stakeholder interactions
  • Prepare reports, track progress, identify risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, environmental teams, construction, legal and regulatory specialists to coordinate access needs
  • Develop Site Access Plans and ensure HSE requirements are understood and integrated

About you

Essential

  • Strong experience in land access, land acquisition, rural engagement or property negotiations
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Strong knowledge of land tenure systems, rural business considerations and property law
  • Understanding of agricultural operations and working effectively with farming communities
  • At least 3 years' experience in land access, negotiation or stakeholder engagement (infrastructure/utilities preferred)
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills and confidence navigating sensitive discussions
  • Full Driver's Licence

Highly regarded

  • Experience securing landholder agreements (option to lease/purchase, easements, access agreements)
  • Experience working on energy, transmission or linear infrastructure projects
  • Local/regional residency

Location

  • Based in Melbourne with regular regional travel
