The Opportunity
· Design Assurance Lead for Technology Programmes

We’re looking for a Design Assurance Lead to build a lightweight, repeatable design assurance capability and run independent reviews of key solutions - starting with a major Genesys contact centre implementation.
This role is about giving executives a simple, reliable way to know whether designs are safe to approve, aligned to business outcomes and risk appetite, and able to scale as the organisation moves from 3 to 16+ programmes. You’ll work across architecture, delivery, risk, security and vendors to make sure designs are checked at the right points, against the right criteria, without introducing Big-4-style bureaucracy.
What you’ll do
- Create a practical Design & Architecture Assurance Framework (triggers, roles, decision points, escalation)
- Build the playbook + toolkit (checklists, design pack template, ADRs, RTM guidance)
- Lead high-value assurance reviews and provide clear recommendations: go / go-with-conditions / fix-first
- Work across architecture, delivery, risk, security and vendors to keep assurance valuable - not bureaucratic
- Uplift internal capability so the organisation can run the model long-term
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years in technology delivery, architecture, risk or assurance (5+ in insurance/regulated financial services)
- Experience designing/running assurance or architecture governance in large programmes
- Confidence challenging vendors and teams constructively
- Strong written and executive-level communication skills
- Exposure to contact centre/CRM/integration/data platforms (Genesys experience a plus)
- Public sector / highly regulated experience preferred
- Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Engineering, Risk, Business or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
If you have strong experience in technology delivery, solution architecture or risk/assurance in insurance or closely related financial services and comfortable challenging vendors and internal teams constructively, are outcome-focused, and able to communicate design risks and decisions clearly to senior stakeholders, including executives and Risk/Board functions we’d welcome your application.
