Davidson is proud to partner with the Clean Energy Council to assist in the recruitment of their next Chief Executive Officer.
This microsite, created on behalf of Clean Energy Council, provides key information and guidance for individuals interested in applying for the role.
Our Role
Australia’s energy transition is accelerating. While national policy sets the frame, delivery is increasingly led by the states and territories. Approvals, planning, and infrastructure rollouts are often managed locally, requiring a highly coordinated approach between jurisdictions.
The
Clean Energy Council (CEC) works at the intersection of national coordination and state delivery. We help the industry navigate this complexity and ensure that clean energy projects translate into real-world outcomes for communities, governments, investors and customers.
We focus on:
A strong and unified voice for industry
We represent a broad membership base, including long-term asset owners and energy retailers, with a shared interest in stability, investment certainty and coordinated reform.
Alignment between local delivery and national ambition
Our engagement spans across all jurisdictions to ensure policy and market design are aligned with delivery on the ground.
Embedding community outcomes
We focus on supporting our members in delivering local jobs, training pathways, economic participation and supply chain benefits, so that the transition uplifts the regions and communities enabling it.
Partnership-first thinking
We enable outcomes through alliances and facilitative leadership, not through duplicative delivery models.
Trusted public communication
We maintain a consistent and confident public presence, grounded in technical credibility and a strong understanding of the policy landscape.
About the role
The Chief Executive Officer will drive the next chapter of growth and evolution for the CEC.
You will play a leading role in executing a Board-led strategy for our members, reshaping the organisation, and positioning the CEC as a credible, trusted, and influential voice in the national energy conversation.
You will lead the sector’s engagement with government, regulators, investors, industry and the broader community – with a strong focus on influencing energy policy and building enduring relationships across Canberra and the States.
You will also serve as a prominent public representative of the sector, working with media and key forums to ensure the CEC’s voice is authoritative, informed and impactful. While strategy and external engagement will be your primary focus, you will set the tone for a values-led culture internally, working with a strong Executive Leadership Team to ensure high standards of operational delivery.
