Workplace Relations Advisor

About the Company
Our client is a large and well-established organisation based in Melbourne’s south-east, operating within a complex and highly regulated environment. They are seeking an experienced Workplace Relations professional to provide additional support to their established team during a busy period through to the end of the year.

About the Role
This is an immediate-start contract through to the end of December, with potential for extension.

There is genuine flexibility around the level of this appointment. We are open to experienced Workplace Relations/Employee Relations Advisors and Specialists through to Business Partner and Senior Business Partner level. The scope and complexity of the role can be adapted depending on the successful candidate’s experience.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • End-to-end employee and workplace relations case management
  • Performance management, PIPs, conduct and disciplinary matters
  • Workplace investigations and sensitive employee matters
  • Grievances, disputes and conflict resolution
  • Enterprise Agreement, Award and policy interpretation
  • Coaching and advising managers through workplace matters
  • Drafting and reviewing formal correspondence, including warning and outcome letters
  • Supporting union and employee representative matters
  • Maintaining accurate case documentation and records

The role is based in Dandenong with 3 days onsite and 2 days WFH. Some travel to other sites may be required depending on individual cases and matters.

About You

You may be an experienced Workplace Relations Advisor looking for broader exposure, an established ER/WR Specialist, or a senior Business Partner interested in a hands-on short-term assignment.

Most importantly, you will have genuine hands-on Workplace Relations experience and the confidence to manage employee matters through to resolution.

You will ideally bring:

  • Strong Workplace Relations / Employee Relations case management experience
  • Experience across performance, conduct, investigations and complex employee matters
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, Awards and relevant employment legislation
  • Confidence coaching and advising managers through sensitive matters
  • Strong written communication and formal documentation skills
  • A polished and professional stakeholder management style
  • Experience within public sector, education, regulated or operational environments will be highly regarded
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence and ability to travel between sites when required
  • Current Employee Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
  • Immediate availability or ability to commence at short notice
