About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Trade & Transaction Reporting Business Analyst to support a major banking client undergoing regulatory remediation and transformation within its trade and transaction reporting environment, on a long term contract, in Sydney (Hybrid).

This role sits within a regulatory change program and will focus on analysing reporting issues, identifying root causes, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to enhance the organisation’s regulatory reporting capabilities and target platform.
The ideal candidate will bring strong business analysis expertise combined with regulatory reporting knowledge, particularly within capital markets environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and investigate trade and transaction reporting issues, identifying root causes and coordinating resolutions.
  • Support regulatory remediation initiatives within reporting frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, and operations teams to implement reporting improvements.
  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear business and functional requirements.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across multiple teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
  • Contribute to transformation initiatives aimed at strengthening the target reporting platform.

Required Experience

  • Experience in financial services consulting or change roles within banks, asset managers, or market infrastructure organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of trade and transaction reporting regulations, ideally including:
    • ASIC
    • MiFID II
    • EMIR
    • CFTC
    • MAS
  • Strong Business Analysis experience, including requirements gathering, issue investigation, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Good understanding of capital markets and regulatory reporting frameworks.
  • Experience working on regulatory change or remediation programs.

  • Ability to work independently and investigate complex issues.
  • Experience working within agile or waterfall project environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to mentor or support junior team members.
