The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Testing & QA Lead to play a pivotal role in building and maturing the testing function within a newly uplifted Digital business division within a Government entity. This is a unique opportunity to step into a greenfield environment, where you’ll design and implement frameworks, establish best practices, and shape the quality approach across a modern, Agile, and cloud-driven environment. You’ll be joining at a time of transformation, with the chance to lay down the foundations of QA and make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities

Establish and mature the organisation’s Testing and QA practice from the ground up.

Design and implement frameworks, processes, and methodologies to drive quality.

Partner with Agile squads, vendors, and internal teams to ensure quality is embedded.

Engage with multiple vendors (approx. 5) and manage testing deliverables effectively.

Act as a subject matter expert, providing strategic direction rather than hands-on coding.

Support the move towards a DevSecOps approach, ensuring security and quality are integral to delivery.

Contribute to the adoption of Agile practices across the Digital business group.
About You
-
Proven experience establishing or maturing a Testing & QA function in a complex organisation.

Strong understanding of modern testing frameworks, automation, and quality practices.

Ability to work in ambiguous, evolving environments and bring structure to new functions.

Experience engaging and directing vendors to achieve quality outcomes.

Background in government or similarly complex, environments is highly regarded.

Pragmatic and collaborative, able to influence and embed new practices across diverse teams.
