Davidson Technology is partnering with a forward-thinking organisation embarking on a significant digital transformation. Together, we’re seeking a Test Manager to lead, in conjunction with the Test Lead, the testing workstream for the HR HCM/Payroll migration, covering Workday HCM and Aurion Payroll.


About the Role

As the Test Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the testing workstream for the HR Project within the Program, delivering a new Workday HCM and Aurion Payroll solution for Council. Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Test Lead, you will develop and maintain the Test Strategy and Test Plan, ensuring comprehensive coverage across HCM, payroll, integrations, payroll rules, and certified agreements. You’ll oversee all testing phases including system integration, end-to-end, regression, user acceptance, and parallel payroll testing, while managing defect triage, requirements traceability, and test governance as well as producing clear executive reporting and dashboards, coordinates closely with SMEs, vendors, and implementation partners, supports cutover and dress rehearsals. You’ll also expert advice on best practice testing and defect resolution to ensure delivery of a high-quality, compliant payroll solution.


About You

To be successful in this role you will be a highly experienced Test Manager with extensive, proven expertise in testing Workday HCM and Aurion Payroll solutions within complex HCM and payroll transformation programs. You’ll bring a deep understanding of Workday functional areas and integrations, combined with in-depth knowledge of Australian and Queensland EBAs, awards, penalties, allowances, and statutory payroll obligations. You’ll be highly skilled in end-to-end test planning, execution, and defect management, developing robust test scripts aligned to certified agreements, lead defect triage and cross-functional issue resolution, and deliver clear executive-level dashboards and reporting. With strong communication skills and the ability to rapidly embed into in-flight projects, you will work effectively with business stakeholders, SMEs, technical teams, and project management to ensure the delivery of a compliant, high-quality HCM and payroll solution.


The Benefits

You will be offered an hourly rate for the duration of the 12-month contract, starting as soon as possible and will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid arrangement (3-day office, 2-days WFH).
