Test Manager – Energy & Gas Reform Projects
The Opportunity
Join a leading utility organisation driving key transformation programs across the energy and gas distribution sector. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead testing efforts in complex, integrated environments, contributing to nationally significant reforms such as the NEM and Flexible Trading Arrangements.
This opportunity requires you to be in the office based in Melbourne CBD 3 days per week. Unfortunately it does not offer sponsorship.
The Role
As a Test Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end testing strategy and execution across integrated systems in energy or gas distribution reform projects.
Your other responsibilities will include:
- Leading system integration and market interface testing across electricity or gas platforms
- Coordinating test planning, execution, and reporting across SAP ISU, Itron, UIQ, MTS, and IEE
- Managing stakeholder engagement across internal teams and third-party vendors
- Driving test governance, risk management, and quality assurance
- Facilitating defect triage and resolution processes
- Ensuring alignment with industry regulations and market protocols
About You
In order to be a successful applicant, you will bring proven leadership experience in test management within the utilities sector.
You will also have:
- Experience in energy or gas distribution, ideally with reform projects (e.g. NEM, FTA)
- Hands-on knowledge of platforms such as Itron, UIQ, IEE, and SAP ISU
- Strong understanding of market transactions and integration testing frameworks
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and vendor collaboration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Structured approach to testing in hybrid waterfall/Agile environments
