The Opportunity

Our client in the energy sector is seeking a highly capable Test Manager to join a major reform initiative on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

This is a rare opportunity to play a critical role in a large-scale transformation program involving regulatory change, new market technologies, and a diverse testing landscape. You will lead a team of 2–6 testers across complex enterprise platforms, helping to shape testing strategy and execution in a high-impact program with long-term scope and funding.

Melbourne based role with 3 days per week in the office.


The Role

As a Test Manager you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end testing strategy across a multi-system reform initiative.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of 2–6 testers across system, integration, and user acceptance testing streams.
  • Overseeing planning, execution, and governance of testing across platforms such as SAP, IEE, MTS, and UIQ.
  • Developing and implementing test strategies aligned with regulatory reform and system integration requirements.
  • Ensuring quality outcomes through effective risk mitigation, defect management, and test reporting.
  • Collaborating closely with program leads and technical stakeholders in a predominantly waterfall environment.
  • Supporting future test automation enablement while remaining hands-on in critical manual test phases.

About You

In order to be a successful applicant you will bring senior-level experience in test management within complex enterprise technology programs. You will also have:

  • Extensive testing experience within the energy distribution or broader utilities sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership of test teams in large-scale reform or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in end-to-end and integration testing.
  • Experience across enterprise platforms including SAP or similar.
  • A solid understanding of system integration principles, with the ability to work across multiple platforms.
  • Proven ability to plan, document, and deliver test strategies in a structured (waterfall) delivery environment.
