Davidson Technology are working with a large State Government Department to secure an experienced Senior Technical ICT Project Officer to lead the planning, design, and execution of user and system migrations associated with departmental relocations, ensuring seamless transitions in and out of the affected environments .
About the Role
As the Senior Technical ICT Project Officer, you’ll be responsible for leading complex ICT infrastructure projects, particularly those involving user and system migrations tied to departmental relocations, while ensuring service continuity and minimal disruptions. Your role will encompass end-to-end oversight of capacity planning, performance monitoring, and availability management of server environments and hyper-converged infrastructure. It’ll also involve maintaining operational excellence through robust controls and procedures, managing the lifecycle of the Managed Operating Environment (MOE), and ensuring security and compliance through effective patch and vulnerability management. You will provide technical leadership, mentor infrastructure staff, and support a team-based approach to achieve organisational goals. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients to manage support arrangements, incident and change management processes, and producing technical documentation and strategic insights to guide ICT infrastructure direction and service delivery enhancements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring advanced expertise in managing complex hybrid environments, underpinned by strong knowledge of Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) technologies such as Nutanix. You’ll demonstrate deep technical proficiency in Microsoft platforms, including MS Server, Azure, AOVPN, RDS/Windows365, DNS/DHCP, SCCM, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune and Autopilot), and Defender security solutions, complemented by experience in scripting, virtualisation, and certificate management. You will excel in diagnosing and resolving intricate technical issues and designing robust solutions, while operating effectively within ITIL-based support frameworks using tools like ServiceNow. You’ll be experienced in leading technical teams and adept at overseeing end-user computing, modern co-management technologies, cloud migration strategies, and integration of both Microsoft and AWS services to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure operations.

You will be offered an initial 6-month contract paying and excellent hourly rate and the possibility of further extensions.
