Davidson Technology Consulting is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a complex digital and technology transformation environment. This 12-month contract is suited to a business analyst who can operate confidently between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors and delivery partners, with a strong focus on applications, integrations, data flows and practical delivery documentation.
The role will support a broad portfolio of technology initiatives, helping define requirements, analyse business processes, map systems and integrations, and ensure solutions are technically feasible, well documented and ready for transition into operational support.
What you will be doing
- Elicit, analyse and document business processes, operational requirements and future-state needs.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional specifications.
- Support discovery, design, build, transition and BAU activity across digital and technology projects.
- Analyse enterprise applications, system dependencies, ownership, integrations and data flows.
- Develop and maintain application inventories, interface definitions, process maps and data flow diagrams.
- Work with stakeholders, SMEs, application owners, vendors and technical delivery teams to clarify scope, constraints and dependencies.
- Support data and integration analysis, including source-of-truth identification, data quality, transformation logic and integration risks.
- Review and interpret technical documentation, scripts, SQL jobs and integration mechanisms where required.
- Maintain RAID documentation and support change impact assessment, transition planning and knowledge transfer.
- Assist with BAU analysis, triage of incidents or defects, backlog refinement and continuous improvement opportunities.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated experience as a Technical Business Analyst in complex IT, digital, enterprise application (ERP) or transformation environments.
- Strong requirements elicitation, documentation and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Experience analysing enterprise applications, integrations, data flows and upstream/downstream impacts.
- Ability to produce high-quality artefacts such as process maps, data flow diagrams, specifications, interface definitions and application inventories.
- Strong technical aptitude across applications, databases, APIs, integrations, data structures and operational support considerations.
- Confidence working with business stakeholders and technical teams, including architects, engineers, data, infrastructure, cyber and application teams.
- Experience working within structured project delivery frameworks and supporting delivery through discovery, design and implementation phases.
- Vendor, procurement or delivery partner coordination experience.
- Local government or similarly complex public sector experience is desirable, but not essential.

You are comfortable asking detailed questions, documenting dependencies, translating between business and technology groups, and producing analysis artefacts that teams can genuinely use to make delivery decisions.
