The Client:
A forward-thinking federal government agency driving the digital transformation of healthcare in Australia. Their mission is to deliver secure, connected, and innovative digital health services that support better outcomes for all Australians.
The Role:
An opportunity exists for a skilled Technical Business Analyst (APS6 equivalent) to join a dynamic team delivering national digital health initiatives. Working under limited direction, you’ll lead complex technical and professional analysis to support system integration and design improvements. You'll have autonomy to gather and document stakeholder requirements that align with the strategic direction of the agency and collaborate closely with both internal teams and external partners across the health sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and document complex technical business requirements, producing high-quality user stories and artefacts (e.g. BPMN diagrams)
- Work independently under limited direction to support system integration, design improvements, and delivery of strategic outcomes
- Provide expert advice across a range of programs, contributing to innovation, continuous improvement, and change management initiatives
- Support planning and delivery by assisting in work plans, risk management, quality assurance, and setting team priorities
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, anticipating needs, supporting change, and collaborating across internal and external networks
- Apply sound judgment in decision-making, aligning work with legislative, regulatory, and agency frameworks and objectives
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in business analysis and systems integration, with the ability to interpret and document complex or conflicting technical requirements
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience producing project artefacts, including BPMN diagrams
- Solid background in systems analysis and working with a variety of information technologies
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High level of analytical thinking, creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a broad understanding of Australia’s healthcare ecosystem (desirable)
Qualifications & Security:
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance
- National Police Check required
