We’re looking for a highly skilled Technical Solutions Architect with deep hands-on infrastructure expertise to lead solution design, set strategic direction, and deliver real impact across a complex enterprise environment.

About the role
As a key member of the architecture team, you’ll bring both strategic vision and hands-on technical capability. You’ll take ownership of infrastructure solution design, guide platform rationalisation, and ensure delivery of robust, future-ready IT services.
You will be responsible for developing clear, pragmatic architecture, collaborating with delivery teams, and engaging directly with senior stakeholders to drive meaningful change.
Responsibilities
- Lead solution design across core infrastructure domains: data centres, networking, storage, and backup.
- Simplify and modernise the technology landscape by identifying opportunities for consolidation and optimisation.
- Develop and own IT infrastructure roadmaps aligned to strategic goals and operational needs.
- Guide delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented as designed.
- Provide technical leadership across projects such as data centre transitions, network redesign, hybrid cloud integration, and modernisation of backup/archiving.
- Engage in governance forums, presenting solutions and producing high-quality artefacts.
- Translate complex requirements into clear, actionable designs for both technical and business audiences.
Experience required
- 8+ years’ experience as a Solution or Technical Architect with a strong infrastructure focus.
- Proven expertise across:
- Data centre transitions and exits
- Network infrastructure (Cisco preferred)
- Storage (SANs), backup and archiving
- Virtualisation (VMware)
- Azure infrastructure – compute, networking, storage
- Strong capability in infrastructure planning, lifecycle management, and technical debt management.
- Ability to document complex designs clearly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence working across both technical teams and senior leadership.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) is advantageous but not essential.
