This newly created leadership role is a key part of that journey, playing an essential role in supporting sustainable growth and enhancing organisational capability.
Reporting to the Director of Organisational Performance, this pivotal leadership role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of asset management at Council. The Strategic Asset Ad visor will be responsible for shaping and implementing a forward-looking strategy that aligns with long-term organisational goals, while ensuring compliance with ISO 55000 standards. As a key leader in the organisation, you will guide the development of a robust asset planning framework, support the implementation of modern asset management systems such as Technology One, and drive improvements in asset management maturity. Through collaboration and strong stakeholder engagement, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making. This role requires a hands-on leader who can bring people together, build capability across teams, and ensure that Council’s asset investments are sustainable, strategic, and responsive to both community needs and organisational priorities.
To succeed in this l eadership role, you will bring proven experience in leading asset management strategies and driving transformational change. Your background in civil infrastructure planning and lifting asset management maturity will be essential, along with a strong understanding of asset lifecycle frameworks. As an influential and collaborative leader, you will engage stakeholders, guide cross-functional teams, and promote sustainable, financially responsible practices. Your ability to align diverse groups around a shared vision will help embed strategic asset management across the organisation. A degree in Strategic Asset Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required , with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded. This is a long-term opportunity with a five-year contract
