JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • 3–5 years in IT monitoring and incident management
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk ITSI or as a Splunk Power User

Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing and ITIL processes

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Splunk Engineer / Splunk Monitoring Specialist to support proactive monitoring of enterprise IT infrastructure and applications using Splunk ITSI. This role plays a critical part in ensuring system stability, accurate alerting, SLA compliance, and continuous improvement across monitoring operations.

You will work closely with incident management and operations teams, validating alerts and tickets, tuning monitoring rules, and providing actionable insights through dashboards and reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor IT infrastructure and applications using Splunk ITSI

  • Validate automated incident tickets in ServiceNow for accuracy, severity, and correct assignment

  • Create manual incident tickets when auto-ticketing fails and document root causes

  • Analyse Splunk ITSI alerts and episodes, identifying false positives and improving alert quality

  • Perform daily health checks on ITSI KPIs, services, and Glass Tables

  • Track and report SLA compliance, system uptime, and critical incidents

  • Prepare daily alert summaries, weekly incident trend analysis, and monthly problem reports

  • Update and maintain Splunk configurations including KPIs, thresholds, correlation searches, dashboards, and alerts

  • Maintain documentation such as SOPs, runbooks, and response procedures

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including alert tuning and monitoring automation

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years’ experience in IT monitoring and incident management

  • Strong hands-on experience with Splunk ITSI or as a Splunk Power User

  • Experience creating and managing Splunk dashboards, alerts, and reports

  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow ticketing workflows

  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Incident and Problem Management

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

Preferred Certifications

  • Splunk Core Certified Power User

  • Splunk ITSI Certified
