The Opportunity

Our client within the energy sector is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to support the delivery of innovative digital solutions across a portfolio of electricity distribution projects.




Melbourne based role, initial 6 month contract with a strong scope to extend, 2 year program, ASAP start, 2-3 days work from home.



The Role

As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of technical solutions that enable smart grid technologies, DER integration, and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI).

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Translating business requirements into scalable, end-to-end architecture aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Collaborating across multiple project teams and business units to ensure cohesion and consistency in solution delivery.
  • Developing architectural blueprints, roadmaps, and standards to support future network capabilities.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to ensure adherence to architectural best practices.
  • Supporting governance processes and contributing to the maintenance of the enterprise architecture function.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and emerging technologies in electricity distribution.



About You

In order to be a successful applicant, you will have extensive experience as a Solution or Enterprise Architect, including experience in the electricity distribution or utilities sector.

You will also have:

  • A strong track record of delivering architecture across complex, multi-project environments.
  • In-depth understanding of smart grids, DER, AMI, and relevant energy technologies.
  • Proficiency in architecture frameworks, Agile delivery, DevOps, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of industry systems such as ADMS, OMS, and grid analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence diverse technical and business stakeholders.
