Davidson Technology are working with a large State Government Department to secure a Solutions Engineer - M365 will work across the Digital Marketplace portfolio with a strong focus on guiding and overseeing tenant migration activities required by the Machinery of Government program.


About the Role

As the Microsoft 365 Solution Engineer, you’ll play a key role in overseeing tenant migration activities within the Digital Marketplace portfolio, particularly supporting the Machinery of Government program. You will focus on ensuring technically sound, secure, and stable migrations across Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure tenant services, and collaboration platforms like Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange. You’ll be responsible for leading solution design and integration, developing architectural documentation, validating migration strategies through pilots, and managing technical execution during agency transitions. Additionally, you’ll be involved in providing expert guidance on Active Directory and identity management, analysing complex system issues, aligning business requirements with program objectives, and ensuring adherence to agency standards and government frameworks. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Modern Workplace, Architecture and Innovation, and Azure services—will be critical to maintaining alignment with strategic directions and ensuring successful migration outcomes.


About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll be an experienced IT professional with a strong background in enterprise-scale M365 environments, specialising in tenant migration, separation, and identity management. With a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field and over seven years of hands-on experience, you’ll bring expert knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Entra Connect, Azure services, and M365 applications. You will excel in delivering complex migration activities such as identity cutovers, mailbox transitions, Teams and SharePoint reconfiguration, and conditional access updates, ensuring seamless and secure outcomes. The role requires advanced capability in solution architecture, including the design of directory and identity structures, application integration, and the production of detailed architectural and technical documentation. Proficiency in transitional architecture—modelling current, interim, and target states—is essential, along with a sound understanding of Queensland or Australian Government ICT standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and governance principles. Microsoft certifications in Entra or M365 are highly regarded, underscoring the engineer’s technical depth and commitment to excellence.


The Benefits

You will be offered a contract through to 26 ^th June 2026 (possible extension) on an excellent hourly rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement for the duration of the assignment.
