Sharepoint Specialist (Collaboration Transition)

Information & Communication Technology

About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a large State Government Department to secure an experienced Sharepoint Specialist to support a Machinery of Government (MOG) M365 Collaboration transition.

About the Role

As a SharePoint Specialist (Collaboration Transition), you will play a key role in supporting the successful transition of SharePoint Online sites and collaboration content into the department’s Microsoft 365 environment as part of the Digital MarketPlace Machinery of Government project. You will work closely with business site owners, multiple departmental and inter department stakeholders and the internal technical resources to assess existing SharePoint sites, determine migration readiness and identify required remediation or configuration changes. You will apply hands-on SharePoint Online expertise across modern sites, pages, web parts, navigation, document libraries, lists, views, metadata, permissions and publishing functionality to prepare sites for transition and ensure they operate effectively in the target environment. You will support migration activities using ShareGate where appropriate, validate migrated sites from both technical and end-user perspectives, and troubleshoot issues relating to access, navigation, links, content and functionality. You will also identify unsupported, obsolete or customised SharePoint components, recommend appropriate treatment, document outstanding issues and support a smooth transition into business ownership and ongoing BAU support.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a minimum of seven years’ experience working within large-scale enterprise environments, with strong hands-on expertise administering, configuring, remediating, troubleshooting and transitioning SharePoint Online solutions. You will have deep practical knowledge of modern SharePoint sites, including pages, web parts, navigation, document libraries, lists, views, permissions, metadata and Microsoft 365 group-connected sites, combined with demonstrated experience assessing and preparing existing sites for migration, identifying unsupported or custom components and implementing practical remediation solutions. You will work directly with business site owners and technical project teams to understand requirements, support migration activities and validate functionality following transition, ideally using ShareGate Migrate or comparable migration tooling. You will demonstrate strong troubleshooting capability across site usability, access, navigation, content and business functionality, while producing high-quality site assessments, transition runbooks, issue and exception registers, validation evidence and handover documentation. Your strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills will enable you to operate effectively across diverse business and technical audiences, with broader Microsoft 365 experience across Teams, OneDrive, Microsoft 365 Groups and Entra ID, and relevant Microsoft certifications, considered highly advantageous.

The Benefits

You will be offered a 6-month contract with the potential of a 3-month extension on an excellent hourly rate as well as a hybrid working environment.
