About the Role
Working as a Service Designer within the Customer Experience & Process Improvement team, you’ll play a key role in researching, designing and delivering service experiences that are human, usable, and aligned with business goals.
This role supports the Senior Service Designer and works closely with stakeholders across tech, operations, and communications to turn complex challenges into elegant solutions. You’ll work across the double diamond, using data-driven insights to shape experiences that serve customers better — from research and ideation to testing and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative customer research
- Designing current and future-state customer journeys and service blueprints
- Creating service prototypes for testing and validation
- Translating journey maps into functional requirements
- Facilitating co-design workshops with business and operational teams
- Collaborating with developers, testers, UX/UI, content, and brand teams
- Supporting delivery within Agile project environments
About You
- Proven experience in service design, UX, or product design
- Strong skills across research, ideation, mapping, prototyping, and delivery
- The ability to navigate complex stakeholder groups and prioritise competing needs
- Experience working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams
- Great communication and facilitation skills
- Experience working within government or utilities is preferred
- Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive, self-directed mindset
- Bonus points for Figma experience and/or designing for vulnerable customers
