An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join a values-driven People & Culture team, where your expertise will directly contribute to fair, safe, and high-performing workplaces.


About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will provide trusted, expert advice on complex employee relations matters across a diverse workforce. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to navigate sensitive issues with integrity, ensuring decisions are aligned with legislative requirements, public sector standards, and organisational values.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality advice on complex ER matters including misconduct, grievances, performance management, and workplace investigations
  • Lead and support end-to-end investigations, ensuring procedural fairness and defensible outcomes
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and public sector policies
  • Partner with leaders to build capability in managing employee relations issues confidently and appropriately
  • Support a culture of accountability, respect, and ethical decision-making
  • Identify emerging risks and contribute to continuous improvement of ER frameworks and practices

About You

You are an experienced ER professional who understands the unique complexities of the public sector. You bring sound judgement, resilience, and a strong commitment to fairness and transparency.

  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations within a government or highly regulated environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations legislation
  • Experience managing complex, sensitive matters with a high degree of professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and coach leaders
  • A values-led approach, with a genuine commitment to public service and community outcomes
