- Reporting to: Test Manager
The opportunity
Davidson Technology Consulting is seeking an experienced Test Lead for an initial 8-week contract to support a large transformation program. You’ll act as deputy to the Test Manager, balancing hands-on testing with day-to-day leadership, stakeholder engagement and clear, timely reporting.
What you’ll do
Team Support & Leadership
- Act as deputy to the Test Manager, coordinating day-to-day testing activities
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the test team, ensuring quality outcomes
- Own and manage assigned streams of testing work
Test Planning & Reporting
- Contribute to test planning and execution strategies
- Prepare test execution and summary reports for stakeholders
- Track progress, manage risks/issues, and escalate as required
UAT Facilitation
- Partner with business stakeholders to plan and run UAT
- Coordinate UAT schedules, scenarios, defect triage and sign-off
- Clearly communicate UAT outcomes and business impact
BI Reports Testing
- Under guidance of the Test Manager, lead testing of BI/analytics reports (e.g., Power BI)
- Validate data accuracy and reliability; collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships across business and technology teams
- Communicate progress, risks and outcomes succinctly
- Represent the testing function confidently in project forums
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years as a tester, including 3+ years as Test Lead or Senior Test Analyst on large programs
- Strong grasp of test planning, execution, reporting and defect management
- Proven UAT facilitation with business users
- Hands-on experience testing BI/analytics reports (Power BI or similar)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisation, ability to juggle priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Positive, proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a standout can-do attitude
- Able to start on 22nd September 2025
