The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst to play a key role in validating complex data migrations as part of a high-impact program. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to ensure the integrity and success of legacy-to-modern system transitions.



This is an initial 6-month engagement based in Melbourne, with potential to extend and a hybrid work setup (3 days in office). Immediate start available.



The Role

As a Senior Test Analyst – Data Migration you will be responsible for designing and executing robust testing strategies for large-scale data warehouse and ETL validation initiatives.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and documenting end-to-end test approaches for complex data migrations aligned with business and technical requirements
  • Developing and executing comprehensive test cases with a focus on data accuracy, completeness, and transformation integrity
  • Validating large volumes of data across legacy and target systems through hands-on technical testing
  • Collaborating with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure effective coverage and clarity of data migration rules
  • Leading defect triage sessions, documenting root causes, and ensuring effective resolution
  • Supporting cutover and go-live planning through test traceability, reconciliation, and readiness assessments



About You

In order to be a successful applicant you will bring a strong background in testing data warehouse and ETL environments, with proven experience in hands-on validation and stakeholder engagement.

You will also have:

  • Advanced SQL skills for querying and validating large datasets across systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex test outcomes to technical and business audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to define test strategies and document test coverage effectively
  • Experience in resolving defects and driving quality outcomes in fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding of test traceability and data migration best practices
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset, comfortable engaging across business and technical teams
