Iberdrola is now recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer to work on the new VNI West project based in the Melbourne CBD office.

About the Role
The Senior Systems Engineer (Systems Engineering and Assurance) will implement and maintain the project Systems Engineering framework, ensuring that stakeholder, regulatory, contractual and technical requirements are captured, managed, allocated, verified and validated throughout the project lifecycle.
The role provides leadership across requirements management, assurance, verification and validation, interface management and systems integration. It ensures alignment with the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Systems Engineering Management Framework (SEMF), project governance requirements and applicable international Systems Engineering standards.
The position acts as custodian of requirements traceability and assurance evidence within the Requirements Management System, preferably Relatics, supporting design development, delivery, testing, commissioning and handover.
Some specific responsibilities include:
· Lead the implementation and application of Systems Engineering processes in accordance with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and the project Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
· Establish, manage and maintain project requirements, including baselines, allocation, traceability, configuration control and change management within Relatics or the approved Requirements Management System.
· Facilitate requirements elicitation, analysis and stakeholder engagement activities to ensure requirements are clear, measurable, verifiable and aligned with project objectives.
· Develop and maintain end-to-end requirements traceability between stakeholder needs, design deliverables, verification activities, assurance evidence and project outcomes.
· Coordinate Contractors, Engineering Designers and Owner’s Engineers to ensure consistent application of Systems Engineering and Systems Assurance approaches across the supply chain.
· Support the development and maintenance of system architectures, system breakdown structures, operational concepts, interfaces and other Systems Engineering artefacts.
· Implement and support Systems Assurance activities, including assurance reviews, governance forums, compliance assessments and stage gate approvals.
· Develop and coordinate verification and validation strategies, plans, matrices and activities to demonstrate compliance with project requirements and operational needs.
· Identify, manage and coordinate system interfaces across project disciplines, contractors, stakeholders, regulators and external parties, ensuring interface risks and actions are effectively managed.
· Administer and optimise Relatics, including workflow configuration, reporting, dashboards, data governance, user support and assurance performance metrics.
· Deliver Relatics training and Relatics configuration development for wider Project Management.
· Assess and manage Systems Engineering, assurance, interface and configuration risks arising from design, requirements and project changes, ensuring impacts are understood and controlled.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have tertiary electrical engineering qualifications and strong experience in a similar role within energy or renewables (preferred) or other large, complex capital infrastructure (rail, defence, utilities). Training and certification with INCOSE will be well regarded.
Your excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, resulting in exceptional performance.
You will be able to work in a very hands-on, flexible and practical manner while thinking strategically, and you will be comfortable and able to travel interstate to both office and site locations when required.
