Our Client:
A leading Queensland Government department delivering enterprise IT services through its CITEC Modern Workplace team.
The Role:
Join the Modern Workplace team as an IT Support Consultant (Desktop), managing desktop and endpoint services across Windows environments for government agencies. You’ll contribute to major onboarding and transformation projects, while mentoring junior staff and supporting day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert support for Microsoft Azure, O365, MECM, Active Directory, and Windows 10/11
- Manage system admin tasks and desktop image deployment for physical and virtual environments (VDI)
- Support key projects including customer onboarding and architectural improvements
- Participate in workshops, demos, proofs of concept, and contribute to technical documentation for RFIs and RFPs
- Assist in incident/problem/change management using ITIL processes and tools like ServiceNow
- Mentor junior staff and help develop continuous improvement strategies
- Pursue ongoing training and certifications to grow team and individual capability
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Strong experience with MECM (OS deployment, app packaging, updates)
- Solid Active Directory and Group Policy Management knowledge
- Support for Windows 10/11 and VDI (Horizon) environments
- Proven ITSM/ITIL experience in enterprise settings
- Strong customer communication skills and ability to meet service level targets
Highly Regarded:
- Microsoft 365 tenant administration or Google Workspace knowledge
- PowerShell scripting
- Windows Server admin experience
