This position is working for a significant government organisation that has a critical role to play in the community and works collaboratively alongside major government departments and entities.
Given the importance of the function that this organisation provides in community safety, utilising a broad range of specialist equipment, services and products, the support of the Procurement Team is key to its success.
Due to a number of strategic initiatives and sourcing projects in the pipeline, the 12 month contract appointment of an experienced Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager has been approved.
About the Role & Experience Required
Working on a hybrid basis, with 2-3 days weekly in Burwood (VIC) office, the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead and execute source-to-contract activities for operational and business critical categories. Goods & Services would include safety equipment, PPE, protective clothing, specialised fleet, parts & inventory, logistics services, as well as consumables.
You will also lead the end-to-end design, development, execution and governance of complex procurement and sourcing strategies. The role drives value-for-money outcomes, ensures compliance with government procurement frameworks, and builds supplier markets and relationships.
- Strong end-to-end strategic sourcing experience, particularly running RFT/RFP processes
- Experience with high-value, high-risk or operationally critical procurement
- Victorian Government / VGPB procurement experience
- Category management experience
- Procurement across fleet, PPE, equipment, logistics, engineering, infrastructure or other technical categories
- Strong supplier negotiation and commercial skills
- Experience working closely with operational or technical stakeholders
- Evidence of delivering sourcing activity against tight or immovable deadlines
- Ideally experience in emergency services, government, utilities, infrastructure, transport, defence or similar operational environments
What's on Offer?
- Immediate start (1-2 weeks notice is ok)
- Hybrid working : Home and Burwood office.
- Pay rate $80-100ph + super ($680-850 daily including super)
- Annual equivalent to $150,000 to $175,000 package
- PAYG or ABN PTY engagement
- 12 months contract role
