Senior Solution Lead Domain Architect

Senior Solution Domain Architect to Lead architecture in Victoria’s renewable energy transition. This role will shape the digital capabilities, integration patterns and workflow platforms that support how new renewable electricity generation and storage projects access and connect to Victoria’s transmission network.

Working within the Technology and Data teams, the position provides architectural leadership across a complex, multiparty environment involving policy, delivery, regulation, cyber security, data governance and external market participants.

The Senior Domain Architect translates strategic intent into practical domain designs, solution guardrails and delivery decisions, ensuring initiatives are scalable, secure, cloud-aligned and fit for a regulated public sector context.

This opportunity will suit an architect who can operate in the specific Domain, at both strategic and delivery levels:

  • Setting direction
  • Guiding major design decisions
  • Producing architecture design artefacts
  • Influencing stakeholders
  • Helping build the architecture foundations


Specialist/Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience in a senior architecture role such as Domain Architect, Lead Architect or Senior Solution Architect, with accountability for shaping architecture across applications, integration, data and cloud in complex enterprise environments. Focus on utility or energy sector environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience designing workflow, orchestration and integration solutions for multi-step, multi-party business processes, including API-led, event-driven and cloud-based design patterns. Experience in Azure based environments and modern data platforms is highly regarded.
  • Strong practical capability in architecture governance, assurance and decision-making, including the ability to balance strategic direction with delivery pragmatism, implementation risk, business value and whole-of life cost.
  • Experience related to development or connection of renewable electricity generation assets (e.g. wind, solar, storage), including familiarity with network access processes, connection agreements, and the regulatory environment governing generation asset connection in Australia is highly regarded.
  • Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, government, other regulated environments or major reform
    programs will be viewed favourably.
  • Sound understanding of cyber security, privacy, data governance and compliance obligations, with the ability to design solutions that align to Government information security standards and relevant critical infrastructure obligations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the credibility to influence senior leaders, delivery teams, vendors and business stakeholders across ambiguity, competing priorities and organisational boundaries.
