About the Company
Join a leading Australian bank’s Business Banking AI program to build customer-facing agentic AI in production. You’ll work in cross-functional squads with real idea-to-pilot velocity, strong engineering peers, and a hybrid model (50% onsite). This is an initial contract role, through 30 June 2026 with ongoing work expected.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer you will have full-stack capabilities and at least fundemental knowledge of building AI.

You’ll ship robust software that makes agentic AI useful and reliable for customers.

Design, build and run production-grade services and UIs for AI agents.

Own features end-to-end: design, code, test, deploy, observe and improve.

Embed CI/CD, automated testing, rollouts, SLIs/SLOs and post-mortems.

Instrument logs/metrics/traces; diagnose and resolve issues quickly.

Collaborate with data/AI teams to integrate LLM/agent workflows safely.

Lift engineering standards across squads through patterns and frameworks.
About You
You’re a full-stack engineer who thinks in systems and ships to production.

Strong software engineering fundamentals; production systems and quality code.

Full-stack mindset: TypeScript/React (Next.js a plus) and .NET/C#/Java/Kotlin (Spring).

Python for AI/data; Spark/Scala exposure welcome but not required.

Clear problem-solving with trade-offs; “strong opinions, loosely held”.

GenAI/agentic hands-on ideal; baseline understanding OK with strong engineering.

Financial services background preferred; collaborative and curious with a bias to action.
