The Opportunity

Our client, a major player in the banking sector, is driving one of Australia’s largest digital migration projects, transitioning millions of customers from legacy systems to a modern digital platform. This is an exciting time to join a high-performing, collaborative engineering environment. You’ll play a key role in delivering cutting-edge cloud-based solutions while working with skilled professionals in a squad-based structure.



Melbourne based role, 50% work from home policy. Must have full Australian working rights. Initial 6 month contract, strong scope to extend, multi year program of work.




The Role

As a Senior QA Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of a complex digital migration initiative within a fast-paced banking environment.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and executing end-to-end test strategies across APIs and backend systems using automation frameworks
  • Writing and maintaining integration and unit tests in Golang, with a focus on gRPC and RESTful services
  • Collaborating closely with engineers, analysts, BAs, and product owners in an agile squad to identify and resolve issues early
  • Using tools such as Postman, Cucumber, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Dataflow for functional and performance testing
  • Working with cloud technologies including GCP and AWS, as well as containerisation and orchestration with Kubernetes
  • Supporting the phased migration of customers from both ANZ Classic and Suncorp platforms into the new digital ecosystem



About You

In order to be a successful applicant you will bring a strong software engineering mindset to your QA practice, particularly in automation testing.

You will also have:

  • Proficiency in at least one of Golang, Java, C#, or JavaScript for test development
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP or AWS
  • Strong background in API testing (REST/gRPC), using tools like Postman and Cucumber
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and working within agile squad environments
  • Previous experience in banking or financial services (highly regarded)
  • Full Australian working rights and availability to start within a 4-week notice period
