The Opportunity
This is a contract opportunity for a Senior Project Officer to support whole-of-government initiatives focused on strengthening information and data management practices. You will contribute to the development of an Information and Data Management Framework, review and uplift IM and DM content, and help improve how agencies manage, govern, and publish information and data. The role sits across Data Strategy, Data Discovery, and Open Data teams, with a strong focus on content governance, policy alignment, stakeholder engagement, and user-focused digital content outcomes.
The Role
In this role, you will support policy, framework, content, and information architecture activities across a government data environment.
- Develop and refine policies, frameworks, guides, and supporting documentation.
- Review and audit IM and DM content to identify gaps, duplication, and improvement opportunities.
- Draft and update QGEA-aligned instruments, guidance, and priority content.
- Develop content inventories, sitemaps, navigation structures, and IA artefacts.
- Coordinate stakeholder consultation, review, approval, and quality assurance processes.
- Prepare findings, recommendations, progress reporting, and project documentation.
About You
You will bring strong policy, content, stakeholder, and analytical capability, ideally gained in government, compliance, records, digital content, or information management environments.
- Experience developing, reviewing, and refining policies, frameworks, guidelines, or digital content.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, user-focused documentation.
- Experience auditing content for accuracy, relevance, usability, and policy alignment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify gaps and recommend practical solutions.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, including working with SMEs and review groups.
- Familiarity with QGEA, information/data management practices, or Squiz Matrix will be highly regarded.
