Senior Project Manager - Cyber Security

About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a large State Government Department to secure a Senior Cyber security Project Manager to lead a number of projects and initiatives. The initial project assignment is to provide a high level of specialist project management support to the Cyber Security Program of work.


About the Role

As a seasoned Senior Cyber Security Project Manager, you’ll lead ICT-enabled projects within the department’s Cyber Security Program. You’ll be involved in full lifecycle project management—from planning and scoping through to implementation and transition to BAU—while ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include managing project teams, preparing governance and change management artefacts, overseeing integrated project schedules, and delivering consistent reporting. The position also requires effective communication across diverse stakeholder groups and a strong focus on continuous improvement within the department’s operating model. Flexibility is essential, as the role may span multiple initiatives beyond the initial cyber security focus.


About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring over four years of experience delivering cyber security initiatives, with deep knowledge of Australian Government security standards such as the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential Eight. You’ll have a strong track record of leading projects that uphold or achieve security certifications, and practical expertise in managing assurance activities including penetration testing, risk assessments, compliance reporting, and technical reviews. Skilled in PRINCE2 methodology, you will be adept at developing governance artefacts, managing project schedules with tools like Microsoft Project and Enterprise Portfolio Online, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver ICT-enabled outcomes. You’ll possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills in complex, political environments, with the ability to clearly communicate both technical and non-technical issues to support informed decision-making.


The Benefits

You will be offered a 24-month contract (possible extension) on an excellent hourly rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement for the duration of the assignment.
