Senior Project Engagement Officer

Davidson is partnering with a large public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Project Engagement Consultant to support the delivery of road, transport and drainage infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engagement professional who enjoys working in complex project environments and is passionate about building strong relationships with communities, stakeholders and project teams to deliver successful infrastructure outcomes.


About the Opportunity

Working within a high-performing Transport Delivery environment, you will lead the planning and delivery of stakeholder and community engagement activities across multiple infrastructure projects. You will provide strategic advice, manage stakeholder relationships, develop communication materials and help ensure projects are delivered with strong community understanding and support.

This role will suit someone who is comfortable operating autonomously, managing multiple priorities and translating technical project information into clear and meaningful communications for diverse audiences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement stakeholder and community engagement strategies across infrastructure projects
  • Identify engagement risks and opportunities in collaboration with project teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with residents, businesses, community groups, contractors and government agencies
  • Prepare high-quality communication materials including notifications, project updates, fact sheets, presentations and web content
  • Manage community enquiries, issues and complaints relating to project activities
  • Undertake stakeholder mapping and engagement planning
  • Maintain engagement records, reporting and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engagement practices and processes


About You

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong experience delivering stakeholder and community engagement programs within infrastructure, transport, construction or capital works environments
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into clear and accessible messaging
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability
  • Experience managing community issues and responding to enquiries in a professional and solutions-focused manner
  • Sound judgement and the ability to work independently while partnering effectively with project teams

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related discipline
  • IAP2 certification or equivalent engagement training
  • Experience working within local government or the public sector
  • Current C-Class Driver Licence
