The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a hands-on Power BI Developer to join their finance team and take ownership of end-to-end Power BI solutions. This is a critical role where you'll deliver high-impact, finance-focused reporting and dashboards that drive strategic decision-making. Working in a collaborative and business-facing environment, you'll play a key part in shaping data narratives and enabling data-informed decisions through expert-level use of the Power BI stack.
The Role
As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions that meet the analytical needs of the finance team.
Your other responsibilities will include:
- Building insightful, well-performing dashboards and semantic models using the full Power BI ecosystem
- Writing complex DAX measures and leveraging advanced time intelligence functions
- Transforming and preparing data with Power Query (M), including advanced data shaping techniques
- Creating and maintaining robust star schema data models to balance performance and usability
- Partnering with finance stakeholders to translate business questions into effective data solutions
- Delivering clean, intuitive report designs and clearly communicating data logic and insights
About You
In order to be a successful applicant, you will have deep expertise in Power BI development, particularly in a finance reporting context.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience building reports, dashboards, and data models exclusively in Power BI
- Strong proficiency in DAX, including optimisation, calculation groups, and advanced logic
- Advanced Power Query (M) skills for complex data shaping and transformation
- Proven capability in building and maintaining scalable star schema models
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with non-technical finance stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to take ownership of solutions end-to-end
