About the Company
My client is a national leader in a people-first service industry with more than 180 locations across Australia. The organisation is growing rapidly and investing heavily in its data and analytics capability to enable smarter, evidence-based decision-making across operations, strategy, and performance.
The culture values curiosity, collaboration, and commercial thinking. This is an environment where analytical minds thrive and where insights genuinely drive action.
About the Role
This is a high-impact, insight-driven role at the heart of the organisation’s decision-making. You will join a small Commercial Analysis Team that operates as an internal consulting function under the COO, providing the Executive Team and Board with the data, analysis, and recommendations that shape strategic priorities.
Your first major project will be to bring customer and employee survey analysis in-house. You will design and interpret surveys to uncover insights about service quality, engagement, and culture, transforming feedback into meaningful actions that improve performance.
From there, your scope will broaden into compliance and operational trend analysis, identifying where safety incidents, breaches, or risks are concentrated and providing early insights that guide leadership focus.
You will also work on commercial and performance analysis, exploring how operational drivers link to financial outcomes such as EBITDA, utilisation, and growth.
This is not a reporting role. It is a position for a naturally curious analyst who wants to go beyond the surface of the numbers, someone who asks the next question, spots patterns others miss, and delivers insights that change the conversation.
You will work across Excel, Power BI, and emerging AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT to analyse data, build dashboards, and automate insights in smarter, faster ways.
About You
You are analytical, commercially minded, and driven by curiosity. You enjoy exploring data, connecting dots, and uncovering what sits beneath performance trends.
You will bring:
- 3 to 6 years of experience in analytics, advisory, or transaction services
- A background in consulting (Big 4 or mid-tier) or a service-based industry such as health, travel, tourism, or education
- Strong technical skills in Excel and Power BI, with the ability to deliver executive-ready insights
- Exposure to or interest in AI tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT
- The ability to anticipate the next question, think critically, and challenge assumptions
- A relevant analytical degree in business, finance, economics or science engineering
This role is ideal for a first-time mover from consulting who wants to apply their analytical toolkit in a commercial setting, with visibility and influence across the business.
Benefits
- Hybrid working: Sydney or Brisbane-based, 1–2 days in the office
- Executive exposure: Direct line to the COO, with visibility across the Executive Team and Board
- Ownership: Build and shape core elements of a growing Commercial Analysis function
- Impact: Influence strategy, compliance, and performance across a national network
- Innovation: Leverage AI and advanced analytics to modernise business intelligence
- Culture: Collaborative, curious, and outcome-focused environment where your ideas matter
