Zoos Victoria is a not-for-profit Victorian government statutory authority, operating Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Kyabram Fauna Park. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Manager, Strategic Finance & Business Partnering will lead a team of expert finance professionals to deliver proactive, forward-looking financial advice that drives performance, informs strategic decision-making and supports enterprise-wide goals. As part of a commercially astute and mission-driven organisation, financial sustainability and operational excellence are central to achieving long-term impact. The role is a senior leadership opportunity that partners closely with executive and operational leaders across the organisation to embed finance as a trusted and commercially relevant function.
This role leads the strategic financial planning, budgeting and analysis across all four zoos, ensuring the financial advice provided is timely, actionable and aligned to both operational priorities and the 2030 vision. In addition to enhancing financial systems and reporting capabilities, the Senior Manager will support investment evaluation, business case development and resource allocation to enable sound decision-making. The position also plays a key leadership role in uplifting financial capability across the business and fostering a culture of transparency, performance, and accountability.
We are seeking a contemporary finance leader with demonstrated experience leading business partnering functions that deliver high-impact financial insights and support cross-functional initiatives. Your ability to navigate complexity, influence outcomes, and drive continuous improvement will be critical. A strong track record in public or commercial environments ideally with exposure to asset-intensive or values led organisations is highly desirable. You will hold a tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business, with CPA, CA or CIMA certification, and bring strong expertise in financial planning, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
