Senior Industrial Relations Lead - Enterprise Bargaining

Human Resources & Recruitment

An exciting career opportunity exists for an experienced Industrial Relations professional to step into a high-impact role within a national operational business.

This role will suit someone who genuinely enjoys the strategy and complexity of industrial relations, particularly enterprise bargaining, union engagement and navigating highly operational workforces.

Working closely with the Head of People & Culture, this role will take ownership of the organisation’s enterprise bargaining strategy while supporting leaders across complex industrial and employee relations matters.

Importantly, this role is suited to someone who both leads negotiations and remains hands-on in the work, rather than operating at a purely strategic level.

The organisation operates across a workforce of approximately 1,500 employees and manages around 15 enterprise agreements across multiple operational workgroups, creating a dynamic and complex industrial relations environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise agreement negotiations from strategy through to approval
  • Develop negotiation strategies and employer bargaining positions
  • Manage relationships with multiple unions across operational workgroups
  • Represent the organisation in Fair Work Commission matters
  • Provide expert advice on industrial instruments, awards and legislation
  • Support complex employee relations matters and investigations
  • Partner closely with operational leaders to navigate workforce challenges

The role also provides exposure to Fair Work Commission matters including enterprise agreement approvals and award variation proceedings

About you

You are an experienced Industrial Relations professional who has personally led enterprise agreement negotiations, rather than simply supporting them.

You are comfortable operating in a highly operational environment where negotiation strategy must align with business realities, and you enjoy working closely with leaders to navigate complex industrial matters.

Your experience may come from sectors such as:

  • Transport or aviation
  • Manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Resources or mining
  • Healthcare, child or aged care
  • Utilities or other operational environments with complex rostering

You will hold a tertiary qualification in either Law, Human Resources or a related disapline and most importantly, you bring experience and confidence at the negotiation table, strong commercial judgement and the ability to build credible relationships with both unions and leaders.

The opportunity
This is a genuinely high-impact Industrial Relations role with significant visibility across the business.

In addition to leading enterprise bargaining and complex IR matters, the role offers the opportunity to influence broader industrial relations strategy as the organisation continues to grow.

For the right person, there is also the potential to broaden into future leadership opportunities within the People & Culture function either now or over time.

Salary, flexibility & benefits

  • $210K – $220K + super (dependent on experience)
  • Flexible start and finish times
  • 9-day fortnight available
  • Eagle Farm based role with free onsite parking
  • Novatged Leasing and Salary packaging
  • Discounted Qantas Club Memberships as well as exlusive sporting discounts
