Our client is a well-respected not-for-profit organisation within the care services sector seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team for an initial four-week assignment. This role has been created to provide additional support during a busy reporting period, with a primary focus on preparing the 2025-26 Financial Statements and September Quarterly Financial Report (QFR).
This is a hands-on technical accounting role suited to someone who enjoys financial reporting and can quickly integrate into a collaborative finance team.

About the Role
Working closely with the finance team, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing the 2025-26 statutory financial statements
- Preparing the Q4 Quarterly Financial Report (QFR) ahead of the September reporting deadline
- Reviewing and posting end-of-year journals
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
- Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting activities
- Supporting the external audit process where time permits
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience preparing statutory financial statements
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
- Experience preparing quarterly financial reports
- Excellent journal preparation and general ledger reconciliation skills
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
- Advanced Excel skills
- The ability to work independently and meet tight reporting deadlines
- CPA or CA qualification (completed or nearing completion) will be highly regarded
