About the Role
The Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the organisation meets its financial reporting, compliance and performance objectives. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting, this position will take ownership of the month-end close process, prepare statutory financial statements, and lead shareholder reporting across multiple entities.
This is a diverse and hands-on role. One day focused on technical accounting and reconciliations, and the next mentoring team members or collaborating across finance functions to drive process improvement. The successful candidate will also contribute to key projects that enhance systems, policies and procedures, supporting ongoing business growth.
About You
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, solutions-focused finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys helping others succeed. A strong technical grounding, coupled with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, will be essential to success in this position.
Key requirements include:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce (CA/CPA qualified)
- 5+ years’ experience in a financial accounting role, ideally with audit exposure
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian and International Accounting Standards
- Proven experience managing financial audits and preparing statutory financial reports
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and, ideally, SAP experience
- Ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly and confidently
