About the Role
As the Transmission Lines Engineer Lead, you will play a pivotal leadership role in the development and delivery of the VNI West project. Reporting to the Engineering and Design Manager, you will oversee transmission line engineering design, ensure technical excellence, and manage interfaces across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. This role spans from early-stage development through to detailed design, procurement, and delivery.
- Lead transmission line engineering design activities in line with Australian standards
- Provide technical leadership across route selection, line design, structures, and conductors
- Manage engineering consultants and contractors
- Coordinate interfaces with substations, environmental, planning, and construction teams
- Support risk management and value engineering initiatives
- Act as the technical authority for transmission line matters
About You
You are an experienced transmission line engineering professional with a strong track record delivering large-scale infrastructure projects. You bring technical expertise along with leadership capability to guide teams in complex environments.
- Extensive experience in transmission line engineering (220kV–500kV preferred)
- Proven leadership of engineering teams and consultants
- Strong knowledge of Australian standards and regulatory frameworks
- Experience across concept, FEED, detailed design, and delivery phases
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in dynamic project environments
