About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join Iberdrola and the VNI West Project team.

Based in the Melbourne CBD, reporting to the Engineering and Design Manager, this role will be responsible for leading the transmission lines team with technical support and direction for projects up to 500KV across the Victorian transmission network.

Some specific responsibilities include:

· Manage and review the scopes and specifications for designs and production of all documentation/project deliverables by Design Delivery Partners.

· Review and assess brownfield and greenfield electricity transmission line designs, providing technical input into staging, constructability, operability, maintainability and safety in design.

· Monitor and manage the timely delivery of high-quality designs and deliverables, ensuring appropriate processes are established to ensure high quality designs.

· Support the team by providing guidance and support to solve complex problems by applying technical knowledge, skills and judgement to achieve outcomes.

· Play an active role in managing resource allocation across Design Management to deliver civil, structural and transmission lines engineering accountabilities

· Management of budget and forecast within guidelines

· Lead, coach and mentor team members by sharing knowledge to develop their experience and expertise.

· Proactively engage with Project Managers to report design progress and resolve civil, structural and transmission lines related design and engineering issues



About You

To be considered for this career opportunity, it is expected you would possess:

· Relevant Tertiary and/ or post graduate qualification (Electrical, Mechanical or Structural)

· Demonstrated experience in transmission line design, including structural analysis for high-voltage (HV) lines.

· Familiarity with transmission line software such as PLSTOWER, PLS-POLE, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.

· Knowledge of Australian industry standards and regulations for transmission line projects

· Excellent written and verbal communication, with demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

· Excellent technical report writing capability and experience
