About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer Substations (Primary or Secondary) to join Iberdrola and the VNI West Project team.

Based in the Melbourne CBD, reporting to the Engineering and Design Manager, this role will be responsible for leading the substations team with technical support and direction for projects up to 500KV across the Victorian transmission network.

Some specific responsibilities include:

· Assess engineering documentation, feasibility and compliance with client requirements and support the preparation of accurate budgets for new projects.

· Recommend construction techniques, sequence of works and input to construction program of works

· Responsible for preparing basic and detailed engineering specifications, designs, and costs for the Project.

· Responsible for providing technical assessment of tender submissions and reporting recommendations to clients.

· Define electrical requirements for input to Project Technical Specifications and other documentation.

· Preparation/Review of electrical drawings and specifications for design, construction, procurement, or other stakeholders.

· Ensure engineering designs and specifications are in accordance with current legislation, policies and operational requirements.

· Lead the technical resolution of site or construction issues, analyse common faults, and prevent re-occurrence.

· Approve or review contractor proposals for temporary work.



About You

To be considered for this career opportunity, it is expected you would possess:

· Relevant Tertiary and/ or post graduate qualifications in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Primary or Secondary engineering

· Knowledge of Australian industry standards and regulations for transmission line projects

· Previous substation design and design management experience, ideally gained on a transmission line project

· Excellent written and verbal communication, with demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

· Excellent technical report writing capability and experience
