Davidson is partnering with a state government client who is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their team. This role supports the delivery of critical infrastructure programs and projects across Queensland, with a strong focus on water, wastewater, and solid waste systems.


About the Role

The successful candidate will provide technical support and project management expertise within the Engineering Project Services team. This team delivers large-scale infrastructure funding programs, responds to critical infrastructure needs, and enhances asset management capability across the local government sector.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Planning, coordinating, and managing critical infrastructure programs and projects across Queensland.
  • Providing engineering advice and project services support to councils and other stakeholders.
  • Advising on infrastructure delivery solutions, particularly in relation to local government infrastructure proposals.
  • Overseeing the delivery of critical infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, and solid waste.
  • Administering infrastructure project grants to local governments.
  • Offering engineering project management advice to senior leaders within the client organisation.
  • Ensuring project delivery meets timeframes, cost, quality, and service requirements, and complies with relevant standards, policies, and legislation.
  • Building relationships across the client organisation to promote a collaborative “one team” environment.
  • Supporting effective liaison and communication with local Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
  • Preparing high-quality written materials including briefing notes, correspondence, and reports.
  • Contributing to team planning and coordination, fostering a positive attitude toward achieving project and organisational objectives.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of several years of professional post-graduate experience.
  • A current C Class driver’s licence.
  • RPEQ registration (mandatory or highly desirable).
  • Experience in water and wastewater design, construction, and operations.
  • Contract and project management experience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
