The Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for a senior Business Analyst to step into a high-profile federal government environment and work across major projects and programs with real visibility. You will join multidisciplinary teams delivering complex outcomes in fast-moving settings, where stakeholder expectations are high, timelines are compressed, and your ability to turn ambiguity into structure will be genuinely valued. With a 12-month initial term, extension options, hybrid working, and location flexibility across QLD, ACT, VIC, and SA, this role will suit a commercially minded BA who is confident operating at pace and influencing senior decision-makers.

The Role
In this role, you will help shape delivery outcomes by translating business needs into practical, well-defined solutions.

  • Lead and support requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation
  • Map current and future state business processes, customer journeys, and workflows
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Analyse data, risks, and system impacts to support project decisions
  • Contribute to business cases, strategy, and implementation planning

About You
You are a senior Business Analyst who can cut through complexity, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly with stakeholders at every level.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Proven experience delivering in tight timeframes and high-pressure environments
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information
  • Experience with process modelling, requirements management, and BA toolsets
  • Exposure to Agile, BABOK, HCD, user-centred design, or Digital Service Standard is desirable
