The Opportunity
This is a time-critical Business Analyst contract supporting a university timetabling platform replacement (Celcat replacement) within a broader digital program. Procurement is complete, the new vendor platform is selected, and delivery risk is now sitting squarely in requirements quality, stakeholder alignment, and UAT readiness. They need a senior BA who can land, diagnose complexity fast, and drive clarity at pace to protect delivery timeframes and adoption.
About the Role
You will own end-to-end business analysis across timetabling and scheduling, from discovery through implementation-ready requirements and into UAT support, working across business, academic, vendor, and ICT delivery teams.
-
Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and sign-off (workshops, interviews, artefacts)
-
Map as-is and to-be timetabling and scheduling processes, including dependencies and impacts
-
Translate needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
-
Partner with the vendor and delivery teams on solution alignment, options, and trade-offs
-
Actively manage scope, assumptions, dependencies, and requirements risk to prevent rework
-
Support UAT end to end: test approach, test cases, execution support, defect triage, validation
About You
You are not a generalist BA. You are senior, self-directed, and calm under delivery pressure, with the credibility to influence academic and operational stakeholders and the discipline to produce requirements that reduce downstream churn.
-
Proven senior or lead BA experience on complex enterprise programs with tight timelines
-
Strong requirements craft: process modelling, use cases, stories, and traceable acceptance criteria
-
Confident stakeholder management across senior business, academics, ICT, and vendors
-
Experience in complex environments (higher ed desirable, but regulated enterprise is fine)
-
Strong testing and UAT capability, including business-focused test design and defect triage
-
Timetabling, scheduling, or student lifecycle systems experience is highly desirable
The Benefits
- Initial 6 month contract with strong scope for extension
- Be a critical part of this delivery
- Competitive Daily rate
