JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support Biztrainer, a safety‑critical Learning and Contractor Management platform operating within a License to Operate landscape. This is a highly accountable role in a complex, integrated operational environment, where the quality of analysis and delivery directly impacts safety, compliance, and operational continuity.
This is not a standard BA role and requires strong operational engagement, sound judgement, and confidence working in high‑risk delivery contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end‑to‑end business analysis activities, including discovery, validation, and stakeholder playback
- Facilitate and manage complex workshops with operational, safety, and technical stakeholders
- Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non‑functional requirements across integrated systems
- Translate operational and compliance requirements into clear, actionable artefacts for delivery teams
- Act as a trusted interface between business, operations, and technical teams
- Leverage and adapt existing blueprints, patterns, and lessons learned from previous site implementations
- Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies within tightly integrated operational workflows
- Provide confident, constructive challenge where scope, assumptions, or delivery approaches may introduce operational risk
Scope & System Context
- Biztrainer extends beyond a traditional LMS and includes:
- Ongoing competency and learning compliance for operational site personnel
- Contractor onboarding and contractor lifecycle management, a critical operational risk area
- Deep integration with frontline operational workflows rather than back‑office processes
- Interaction with safety‑critical and compliance‑heavy systems, including health and safety data
Required Experience & Capabilities
- Senior‑level experience as a Business Analyst in complex enterprise environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement capability, with proven credibility working directly with operational teams
- Demonstrated experience running workshops end‑to‑end (discovery, validation, playback)
- Ability to clearly translate between business needs and technical solutions
- Experience in safety‑critical, operational, or compliance‑heavy industries (e.g. mining, oil & gas, heavy industry) highly regarded.
- Solid understanding of integrated systems landscapes rather than standalone applications
- Proactive, confident mindset with the ability to challenge constructively when required
Delivery Expectations
- This role requires regular onsite presence (weekly or at a minimum monthly) to effectively engage with operational stakeholders
- Not suitable for fully remote delivery
- Operates in a high‑risk delivery environment with direct License to Operate implications, requiring maturity, decisiveness, and strong professional judgement
