About the Role
Davidson Technology Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Senior BI Tester to lead data reconciliation and BI User Acceptance Testing (UAT) governance within a large-scale enterprise program.
This is a critical assurance role focused on safeguarding the integrity of reconfigured enterprise data cube logic and ensuring business reporting accuracy prior to release. You will operate as the central control point between data teams, business SMEs, and program governance - providing structured, evidence-based validation in a high-visibility reporting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Reconciliation & Validation
- Verify reconciliation of reconfigured data against source systems and baseline outputs
- Validate changes to mappings, transformation logic, derived measures, and calculations
- Confirm correct grain, hierarchies, rollups, and aggregation behaviour
- Produce structured reconciliation evidence to support controlled sign-off
BI UAT Governance & Coordination
- Own and govern the BI UAT plan, schedule, and execution
- Coordinate business SMEs to perform structured report validation
- Drive completion accountability across report owners and stakeholders
Test Control & Defect Leadership
- Manage test traceability and execution via Azure DevOps
- Lead defect triage with technical and business stakeholders
- Apply disciplined severity and priority classification based on business impact
Stakeholder Risk Management
- Act as the central control point between data teams, report owners, and Test Manager
- Escalate data quality, regression, SME bandwidth, and environment risks
- Clearly articulate reporting risk exposure and mitigation strategies
About You
Required Experience
- 8+ years in enterprise BI testing, UAT leadership, or reporting assurance
- Experience assuring changes within established EDW/data warehouse environments
- Strong reconciliation and regression testing background
- Experience within financially or commercially sensitive reporting environments
Technical Expertise
- Advanced SQL and analytical capability
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling (facts, dimensions, grain, hierarchies)
- Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent test management tools
- Strong understanding of reconciliation, regression, and release control methodologies
Functional Knowledge
- Working knowledge of commercial and financial metrics (revenue, margin, pricing, churn)
- Understanding of enterprise reporting governance and control frameworks
What Success Looks Like
- All reconfigured data logic reconciled with no unexplained material variance
- Stable cube outputs following regression validation
- Disciplined BI UAT execution with clear sign-off evidence
- Critical reporting defects identified and resolved prior to release
- Executive confidence in reporting accuracy at go-live
